SEATED AEROBICS AND PILATES
These classes allow the elderly train in a safe and comfortable environment. Doing gentle marching and arm movements to increase the heart rate and improve mobility. A total body workout programme designed to target both lower and upper body strength and felxibility.
Classes are at sheltered housing schemes or through exercise programs run by MK Dons or MK council. They are from half an hour to one hour. Some classes are more up beat and raise the heart level, others are calmer and focus more on gentle stretches and flexibility. I have even started a class where we sit entirely on fitness balls to gain better core strength. We also use bands for upper body toning.
